Lexington, KY – March 15, 2023 — The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) have designated CLARK Material Handling Company—a top-ten manufacturer of forklifts and spare parts with headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky—as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky for 2023!
This marks the fifth time CLARK has earned the prestigious employee-driven Best Places to Work award. Previously, CLARK earned this distinction in 2013, 2019, 2020, and 2022.
This distinction is bestowed on both CLARK Kentucky facilities: their American Headquarters and manufacturing plant in Lexington, and their state-of-the-art parts distribution center in Louisville.
Each year, the KYSHRM and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce determine the top 30 companies in each size category (small, medium, and large) through employee surveys, as well as through review of the company’s benefits, policies, practices, and demographics. CLARK employees respond to questions about the culture, employee engagement, wellness program benefits, and more to determine whether the company earns the distinction of being one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky.
“At CLARK, the first thing we do when we walk in the door each day and the last thing we do before we leave is consider how we are going to take care of each other, our families, and our community. We pride ourselves on building the best material handling equipment in the industry and know that the hard work and dedication of our employees is integral in that effort,” commented Dennis Lawrence, President and CEO of CLARK. “Our employees make CLARK a Best Place to Work in Kentucky, and we are honored that they have chosen us as a Best Places to Work in Kentucky for the fifth time.”
“The employees of CLARK are what makes CLARK special,” added Sherry Myers, Human Resources Manager. “Our unique family-oriented culture at CLARK is employee-driven and reflected in our programs, policies, and benefits system. We are committed to the pursuit of excellence not just in manufacturing but in providing a safe and supportive workplace for employees to work in every day. Few companies earn the distinction of being a Best Place to Work in Kentucky, and fewer still earn that recognition year after year.”
This statewide program, created in 2004, identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Kentucky. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky Initiative is based on FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best companies to work for in America” list.
