FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2013) – The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM), in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, announces the winners in the Ninth Annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky competition. The winner rankings will be announced at an awards dinner Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Lexington Convention Center.

Winners from across the state have been selected in two categories: small/medium-sized employer (companies of 25 to 249 U.S. employees) and large-sized employer (companies of 250 U.S. employees or greater). The selection process, managed by Best Companies Group, is based on an assessment of the company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey.

The competition is a multi-year initiative designed to motivate companies in the Commonwealth to focus, measure and move their workplace environments toward excellence. Numerous studies show a strong correlation between profitability and creating a good place to work. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky initiative is based on FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America” list.

The KYSHRM organization consists of 13 local chapters throughout the state, with a membership of over 2,500 human resources and business professionals across all industries.

The Kentucky Chamber represents 2,700 member businesses – from family-owned shops to Fortune 500 companies – that employ over half of the Commonwealth’s workforce.
