CLARK Material Handling Company, a supporter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure today announces it’s Pink Pallet Jack Drive. The purpose of this challenge is to raise donations for the Cure and bring awareness to this issue on a local and national level. CLARK has painted a limited number of CGH pallet jacks pink in support of this cause. We are accepting pledges beginning today through May 15, 2007 that will be donated to the Lexington chapter of this organization. Dealers who donate a minimum of $1,000.00 will receive one of these limited edition pink pallet jacks for display at their dealership. Additionally, all dealers that pledge to this cause will be featured in a national print advertisement to appear later this year.
The idea for pink pallet jack originated with Karen Johnston of CLARK’s legal group. She got her inspiration from a picture of a pink CLARK tugger given to her by a friend taken in the tropics. “I thought if they can do a pink tugger, why not a pink truck?” As a member of CLARK’s philanthropy committee she brought the idea up at a recent meeting and got the group to agree on her idea. Dennis Lawrence, CLARK’s president commented, “This is the type of initiative we have coming out of CLARK these days. I am proud that the organization, particularly the philanthropy committee and Karen were able to take a great idea and turned it into reality so quickly. That is a sign of a great organization.”
In 1982, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. That promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. It is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. CLARK is a proud supporter of this cause in honor or our employees, mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, and friends.
